In XPS operations, you use Test Data folders to test new or experimental configurations when you are in solo mode. With a Test Data folder, you can change and experiment with copies of shared data files, and see how the changes appear in the XPS client before you introduce them back into the shared server environment.
To create a Test Data folder on your local drive:
Navigating in your local network, locate the data folder located with the XPS host. You can see the XPS server location in the IP field in the Cluster Services view (N4 client System
Cluster Services).
Copy the data folder, and put it on the solo machine in the same folder where you keep the XPS client executable file. (The folder that contains the XPS client executable file also has a folder named Private. Put the copy of the data folder at the same level as the Private folder.)
Rename the copied data folder as Test Data.
